Kenneth Ray Lancaster

Kenneth Ray Lancaster, 65, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2006, and is now resting peacefully after a very difficult battle with brain cancer, which was diagnosed February 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Cellmer Lancaster; his daughter, Polly Ann Lee of Temple; his son, Kenneth Clay Lancaster and his wife Stac
ey of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Steven, Kyle and Cassidy; his uncle, Harlon McMullen and his wife Alta Lee of Delhi; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Kenneth was born and raised in San Antonio. He attended Brackenridge High School, transferring in his senior year and graduating from Highlands High School. He was employed by City Public Service as a rural route meter reader and retired from there with 35 years of service. Shortly after retiring, he and Lucille moved to the Delhi area in eastern Caldwell County, where he lived until the time of his death.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006, in the McCurdy Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Delhi Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenneth”s memory may be made to the Delhi Baptist Church or the Delhi Volunteer Fire Department.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to family and friends for all the prayers and support during Kenneth”s illness and this sad time. A special thanks also for the compassion, diligence, and hope given to Kenneth against all odds by his medical team, including Dr. Peter Petroff, Dr. Christopher Bogaev, Dr. Lisa Fichtel and their staff, as well as Girling Hospice for their comforting support and care during his final days.
