Late last week, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office announced they were investigating a case in which an area man was charged with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Robbery.
On July 28, 2014, deputies responded to a home in the 100 block of Misty Dr., in Uhland, where callers had reported a stabbing. Upon arri

ving at the scene, deputies were informed that the victim, whose name was not released, had arrived at their home after offering a ride to an acquaintance, who stabbed him and stole his truck.
The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Jonathan McDonald.
As a result of his encounter with McDonald, the victim was taken to Seton Hays, in Kyle, and later transferred to Brackenridge Medical Center in Austin, due to the severity of his wounds. His condition was unknown at press time.
Two days into the investigation into the incident, detectives had gathered enough evidence against McDonald to present probable cause affidavits for Attempted Murder and Aggravated  Robbery. The affidavits were presented to Judge Matt Keily, who signed warrants for McDonald’s arrest.
On July 30, McDonald was arrested on the charges of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Robbery, and remanded to the Caldwell County Jail with a total of $150,000 in bonds.
