Special to the LPR

LockhART HOUSE is delighted to announce a remarkable Open Art House featuring the renowned Banksy collaborator and Los Angeles-based artist, Barminski. The Open Art House event will take place on Sunday, July 28, from noon to 4 p.m. at LockhART HOUSE (400 Hackberry St.).

Barminski is an extraordinarily prolific and influential multimedia artist working across painting, interactive media, and graphic design. He is best known for his paper sculptures of everyday objects, recreating mundane items such as shoes, spray cans, and furniture in three-dimensional drawing-like sculptures. His most recognizable work, “Security Theatre,” served as the life-size interactive paper sculpture entrance to Banksy’s apocalyptic dystopian theme park, Dismaland, in 2015.

“Barminski was introduce to me by his sister and my neighbor, Mary Barminski-Johnson,” Chad Rea said. “Next thing I know, I have a semi-permanent art installation in my house to share with the community.”

This is an opportunity to see one of most influential multimedia artists of our time along with three other guest artists, include Tra’ Slaughter, Sandra Boskamp, Hope Perkins, and Shaun Avants.
