Blanche Reeb

Myrtle Blanche Schneider Reeb  passed away peacefully on April 2, 2016 at her home Austin.
Myrtle “Blanche” Schneider was born on April 13, 1930, in Lockhart, Texas, to Myrtle Blanche Polly and Albert Schneider.  Blanche attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas and later completed her education at a business college in Austin.
Blanche met Robert Joseph Reeb at

a dance at Moody Air Force Base Officers club while visiting her sister, Joyce, in Georgia. Bob and Blanche were the first couple to marry at the First Lockhart Methodist Church on March 22, 1953.  Blanche then followed her husband Bob and his career in the Unites States Air Force to San Antonio, Naples, Italy, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Washington DC, having four children along the way before retiring in Lockhart.
Blanche was a stay at home mother while her children were young. When her children were older, Blanche started to work part time as secretary of the First United Methodist Church of Lockhart.  Blanche later began selling real estate and eventually became a broker and owner of Reeb Real Estate. Reeb Real Estate built a log cabin office on 183 which until recently was home to the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce.
Bob and Blanche retired to the Hills of Lakeway and finally Querencia, an assisted living facility in Austin where they lived out the rest of their lives surrounded by friends and family.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her brother, Robert “Bob” Edward Schneider and his wife Lou; brothers-in-law “Doc” Thomas and Al Tally; and adopted siblings, Georgia Holland Jeffrey and Thomas Holland.
Blanche was survived by her sisters, Joyce Tally, of Austin, Katie Thomas, of Louisiana, and Mary Elizabeth “Liz” and husband, Dr. Philip Wales, of Lockhart; her children, Rob Reeb, Jr. wife, Maribeth, and children Robby, Drew, Alex and Annabeth; Bill Reeb, wife Michaelle, and daughter, Cheri, spouse, Letitia, and grandson son, Marco; Mike Reeb, wife, Laura, and daughters Victoria and Brianna; and daughter, Karen Reeb Cochran, daughter, Natalie and son, Reeb; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Darrell K. Royal research fund for Alzheimer’s or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Family will receive friends at McCurdy Funeral Home, 105 E. Pecan Street in Lockhart on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at noon, with funeral services following at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at the Lockhart City Cemetery.

    Rob, Billy, Mike and Karen–I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. She was a welcoming and inspirational lady. Our prayers are with you and your families.
