Burglars arrested on Young
Two arrested after attempt to rob home
On Tuesday, Feb. 13, at about 8:30am, the Caldwell County Sheriff”s Office received a report of a possible burglary in progress in the 1300 block of Young Lane, south of Lockhart.
Neighbors observed two suspicious persons at a nearby residence and saw one kick the door open and enter the residence. They immediately called t
he Sheriff”s Office and provided the suspect vehicle information and direction of travel when the suspects left the scene. Responding deputies located the suspect vehicle at Young Lane at FM 1322, south of Lockhart and took two suspects into custody.
The suspects two men, age 18 and 19, were arrested transported to the Caldwell County Sheriff”s Office for further investigation. Both suspects were charged with Burglary of a Habitation.
“This was an excellent example of what Neighborhood Watch is all about,” said Sheriff Daniel Law. “Neighbors immediately reporting suspicious behavior resulted in the apprehension of two criminals by law enforcement officers. Citizens and law enforcement working together in partnership can reduce crime in our county.”
