On January 11,2024 at the age of 71 our beautiful beloved mother Carol Martinez Mojica gained her angel wings and crossed into the gates of heaven.

She was born on May 18,1952 to Antonio and Ramona Martinez in Lockhart, TX.

Carol was a longtime native of Lockhart until July 2020 when she went to live with her sister Sylvia Gutierrez, where you’d find both of them enjoying a nice cup of coffee a panecito of some kind and a little chisme.

Carol also enjoyed sitting in her recliner doing her crossword puzzles and watching the Hallmark, Lifetime and the home makeover channels, even if they were reruns she’d enjoy their as if it was the first time watching them. You’d also catch her watching football, her favorite teams the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns.

Most of all Carol loved spending time with family especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carol worked many years as a housekeeper in Lakeway where in 1974 she’d meet the love of her life Jose E. Mojica Sr. The two were married for 23 years. Out of those 23 years, Carol had 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband Jose E Mojica Sr; her parents Antonio and Ramona Martinez; her brothers Angel Martinez and Pete Martinez; her sisters Maria ‘Rosa’ Saldana and Margarita Martinez, her nephew Jim Perez, Gilbert Ortega and great niece Sara Alvarez

Carol is survived by her daughter Joelda Mojica (Steve), her sons Joe Mojica Jr (Laura), Michael Mojica (Rita), Mark Anthony Mojica (Jessica), 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Her brothers Antonio ‘Tony’ Martinez (Mary), Johnny Martinez (Nelda), Rick Martinez (Sylvia); sisters, Lupe Ortega (Joe), Sylvia Gutierrez (Alfredo) and Josie Perez, along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved so so much.

Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, James ‘Jaime’ Martinez, Juan Guardiola, Simon Guardiola, Joseph Martinez, Salvador Saldana, and Raymond Saldana.

Visitation will be at McCurdy Funeral Home on Wednesday January 17,2024 at 5pm with the rosary at 7pm. On Thursday, January 18,2024 at St Mary’s Catholic Church at 10am and burial to follow at St Mary’s Cemetery.
