Officers seized more than six ounces of cocaine and over $2,000 in cash after executing a search warrant in Maxwell last week.
On Thursday, April 7, officers from the Chisholm Trail Narcotics Task Force, the Hays County Narcotics Task Force, the Texas Department of Public Safety served a search and arrest warrant at a Ma

xwell residence. The warrants had been signed by 421st Judicial District Judge Todd Blomerth earlier in the week.
Statements from the Hays County Narcotics Task Force indicate that the investigation into activities at the residence began several weeks ago, after detectives received information that a suspect allegedly living at the residence was involved in selling large amounts of cocaine in the San Marcos area. The investigation eventually yielded sufficient information to justify Blomerth”s issuing the warrant.
The focus of the investigation, a 25-year-old Maxwell man, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute. He was booked into the Caldwell County Jail and later released on $30,000 bail.
The statement from Hays County says additional charges are pending against the suspect.
In addition to the drugs and cash, police seized a stolen firearm and approximately two ounces of an “unknown powder believed to be used as a cutting agent for cocaine.”
Police estimate the street value of the seized cocaine to be between $7,000 and $9,000.
