Charles R. LaGrone of Lockhart, Texas, passed away on Nov. 6, 2012, at the age of 91. He was born on Jan. 16, 1921, in Benton, Ark., to Aura Lee and Annie Ray LaGrone.

Charles and Evelyn were high school sweethearts. They were both lifetime members of Apostolic Pentecostal Church were he held many church offices with the last office being honorary board member. Charles worke

d for Mobil Oil for 39 years. During that time he retired as Regional Supervisor for Luling Mobil Oil Field. During his years he was a little league coach and a Boy Scout Master. Charles loved the company of his family and friends and also loved to go to church, fishing and deer hunting.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Evelyn, who passed away on Aug. 20, 2012; three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by one son, Ronnie LaGrone and wife, Debbie, of San Antonio; one daughter, Ginger Pieper and husband, Elroy, of San Antonio; one brother, Paul LaGrone and wife, Cora, of Seattle; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, with a service that followed at 10 a.m. with Chris Clements and Tim Delano officiating. Interment to follow at Lockhart City Cemetery.
