Charley Earnest McDonald, 77, lifelong resident of Lockhart, passed away peacefully at his home June 17, 2011.Charley was born to Earnest Douglas and Sarah Belle Parker McDonald on Oct. 17, 1933.

Charley was a retired Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps, having served during the Korea and Vietnam eras. He had also worked as a station attendant in Lockhart for 20 years.

e was preceded in death by his parents.

Charley is survived by his wife, Lillian; stepsons, David Ray Carley and wife, Felina, of Austin, and Christopher Mark Carley, of Luling; brother; Phillip McDonald and wife, Crissy, and their children, Janetta McDonald Roberts, Aaron McDonald, and stepdaughter, Kourtney Swanson, of San Antonio; aunt, Annice Loise Pybas; and grandchildren: Laurel Carley and David Ray Carley, Jr., of, Austin.

A visitation was held from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Eeds Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services were held on Wednesday June 22, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Lockhart City Cemetery.
