Donald Fischer, of Lockhart, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010, at the age of 60. He was born Nov. 3, 1949 to Arnold and Emogene Fischer of Red Rock, Texas.

Donald attended Lockhart High School until 1970. He was a lifetime member of the McMahan Baptist Church where he always liked to visit with everyone. Donald loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. He

enjoyed going to the pastures and checking on the cows. He also loved the Astros and the Cowboys and his passion for “his teams” was well known to everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Fischer; brother, Charles Fischer; and grandparents, Milburn and Sylvia Corbell and Honce and Cora Fischer.

He is survived by his mother, Emogene Fischer; brother, Tim and wife Phyllis Fischer; and his special sister, Amy and husband Bob Kuhl, of Tecumseh, Neb. He left behind four very dear nieces, Holly and Dan Denton, of Omaha, Nebraska, Jennifer and Tommy Nelson, of Red Rock, Texas, Tiffany Fischer, of Taylorsville, Texas, and Vanessa Fischer, of Red Rock, Texas; five great-nephews; a great- niece; and loving aunts and uncles.

Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home, from 4 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2010. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2010, in the McCurdy Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Dugger and Pastor Horton officiating. Interment followed at the Lockhart Municipal Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to McMahan Baptist Church or Asera Hospice, 1015 Main St., Bastrop, Texas, 78602.
