Eva Lopian passed away at Hospice Austin”s Christopher House on May 2, 2007 at the age of 91. She was born on Aug. 8, 1915 in Rock Island, Ill., to Lena and Morris Brien.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Frank Lopian, her mother, her father, her sister and two brothers.
She is survived by daughters Dena Houston and husband, Franklin, and Joan

ne Stevenson and husband Michael; grandchildren Adam Houston, Rachel (Houston) Bruce and husband Michael, Anthony Stevenson and Nick Stevenson; and great-grandchildren Tyler Bruce and Peyton Bruce.
Eva moved to Houston after her parents died and then married Frank in 1946. She worked in the Circulation Department at the Houston Chronicle for 17 years prior to retiring to Austin with Frank to be near their daughters. After Frank died, Eva worked as a nanny, traveled with her girlfriends, worked summers at the YMCA in Estes Park, Colo., and served as a volunteer at Seton Hospital for 15 years and North Central Caregivers for six years.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at The First Unitarian Church, 4700 Grover. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice Austin, Christopher House, Meals on Wheels or North Central Caregivers.
