Foodies rejoice: Excitement palpable as The Culinary Room opens downtown

On Friday, all the king’s horses and all the king’s men were at The Culinary Room – Lockhart’s newest gourmet food store – but Humpty Dumpty was nowhere to be found.
It’s a good thing, too, or he would have likely been whipped into deviled eggs rather than pieced back together at the 101 E. San Antonio St. shop, which features an array of gourmet cheeses, fresh made sandwiches, boutique wines, craft beers and decadent desserts.
And the thing that arguably gave the new venture its start: its Culinary Cowgirls Queso that won at the 2016 Quest for Texas’ Best award from H-E-B.
