Juan Pastrano peacefully left this Earth to be with his Savior, at the age of 87, on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012. At the time of his death, Juan was surrounded by his family.

He was born in Fentress, Texas, to Felipe and Juanita Pastrano on March 27, 1925.

Juan was a hard worker, having spent many of his early years working the cotton, corn and vegetable fields of Nebraska, Wisc

onsin and Texas. He worked as a car attendant at full service filling stations before self-service was available. He also worked for Southwest Texas State University as a custodian.

Juan was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sara, in 1998; brother, Mariano; and sister, Gregoria.

Juan is survived by his brothers: Pedro Pastrano, and Jesus Pastrano and wife, Maria, of San Marcos; sisters, Josie Rangel and Maria Elena Ruiz and husband, Jaime, of San Antonio, Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez and husband, Lalo, Cindy DeLeon and husband, John, and Loretta Pastrano, of San Marcos; and step-son, Jesse Banegas, of San Marcos.

From your brothers and sisters; “hermano, te queremos y tu memoria y tu espíritu vivirá para siempre con nosotros.” 

From your nieces and nephews, “Tío Juan, te amamos y recordará siempre.” 

Juan Pastrano, our Brother, Uncle, relative and friend, “You were a generous man steeped in faith and family. You always had time to lend a helping hand. We love you and remember you always.”

A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Martindale.  Rev. Fr. Antonio Perez was the celebrant.  Interment followed at San Isidro Cemetery in Fentress.  Arrangements under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home, San Marcos.  (512) 396-2300.
