Junior High Lions sweep Bastrop

Lockhart Junior High football teams swept four games from Bastrop last week, with the 8th Grade Maroon winning, 33-6, the 8th Grade White clipping the Bears, 13-12, and each 7th grade team winning big, the Maroon, 39-13, and the White, 20-0.

LJHS Head Coach Willie Boyd praised the play of 8th Grade Maroon Lion Troy Morales, 8th Grade White member Ladarius Roe, 7th Grade Maroon Lion Joel Garcis, and 7th Grade White team player Jerry Peralez.

The LJHS 8th graders will play on Wednesday of this week at San Marcos Goodnight, while the 7th Grade teams will play in Lockhart.

Next Tuesday, Oct. 17, the 8th Grade Lions will be at home against Seguin AJB, while the 7th Grade Lions will travel to Seguin.

Lockhart High was off last week. Its varsity will play Friday at Liberty Hill with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Panther Stadium. The LHS Junior Varsity will play Thursday at home against Liberty Hill with 1 5:30 p.m. kickoff, while the LHS freshmen will host Liberty Hill on Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
