The Lady Lions’ soccer team traveled to Fredericksburg last Tuesday, Feb. 1, to play in their final non-district game. Despite a strong effort, the Lady Lions were defeated 3-1. The Lady Lions’ lone goal came off the foot of Brianna Hinnekamp with an assist by Ashley Simon.
The Lady Lions opened district play on Friday, Feb. 4, against Marble Falls at the Junior

High Football Field. The Lions were down 1-0 at halftime, but scored in the first five minutes of the second half on a goal by Brianna Hinnekamp with an assist by Laura Wilson.
Marble Falls struck again to put them up 2-1. But the Lady Lions continued to battle and scored the equalizer with eight minutes left in the game when Hinnekamp knocked in a rebound that came from a direct kick by Ashley Simon.
The game went down to the wire with Marble Falls threatening as the clock winded down, but the Lion defense held strong to maintain a 2-2 final score.
The Lady Lions are 0-0-1 in district play and 3-5-3 overall this season. The Lady Lions will be in action again on Friday, Feb. 11 when they face Vista Ridge at home. The game is scheduled at the Lockhart Junior High Football Field at 6 p.m.
