Lady Lion softball honored with All-District selections

The 26-4A District released their All-District team selections for softball on Tuesday, May 9.
The Lady Lions were well-represented with seven players named to All-District teams.
Lady Lion senior shortstop Bobbie Schulle was named to First Team All-District with fifteen other district competitors.
Making Second
Team All-District for Lockhart was junior second baseman Alyssa Gonzales and senior outfielder Noelle Marquina.
Earning Honorable Mention All-District for the Lady Lions was senior pitcher Megan Davilla, senior third baseman Yvette Alarcon, sophomore first baseman Zaida Hagar, and sophomore catcher Janie Juarez.
The Lady Lions competed in district against the Taylor Lady Ducks, the Elgin Lady Wildcats, the Vista Ridge Lady Rangers, the Hendrickson Lady Hawks, the Connally Lady Cougars, and the Del Valle Lady Cardinals.
The Lady Lions finished the season with a record of 16-13 overall and 5-7 in district.
“The season was a successful one overall but we fell a bit short in district,” Coach Lisa Cone said.
“The Lady Lions will be losing six wonderful young ladies this year,” she added.
Yvette Alarcon, Megan Davilla, Briana DeLeon, Courtney Lee, Noelle Marquina, and Bobbie Schulle will be graduating in May.
“It has been an honor to work with these young ladies for four years. We wish them the best of luck in the years to come,” Coach Cone said.
