ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

 

Sealed proposals addressed to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Lockhart will be received at the Lockhart City Hall, 308 West San Antonio, Lockhart, Texas 78644, until 11:00 A.M., Wednesday,December 12, 2012 for the new Lockhart Animal Shelter, at which time and place will be publicly opened and read aloud. SCOPE OF WORK:

 

Provide Labor only, for all the electrical wiring and associated work required for the completion of the New Animal Shelter Administration Building and K-9 facility. All work will be required to meet the current National Electrical Code.

 

Work will require bid winner to:

 

1) Provide city with material take off necessary for completion of the work required.

 

 

Bidders shall submit with their bids a Cashier”s Check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum total bid, payable to the City of Lockhart, Texas without recourse, or a Proposal Bond in the same amount from an approved Surety Company as a guarantee that Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds on the forms provided, within ten (10) days after the award of Contract. The City of Lockhart Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. in the lower level of City Hall, 308 West San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas, to receive public input regarding the following:

 

ZC-12-06.  A request by Tammy Reed on behalf of Darrell Schuenemann for a Zoning Change from AO Agricultural-Open Space District to CHB Commercial Heavy Business District for 1.685 acres in the Miles G. Dikes 1/4 League, Abstract No. 6, and W.C. Williams 1/3 League, Abstract No. 300, located at 2100 North Colorado Street.

 

All interested persons owning property within 200 feet of this property wishing to state their support or opposition may do so at this Public Hearing; or they may submit a written statement to the City Planner or his designee for presentation to the Planning and Zoning Commission at or before the time the Public Hearing begins.

Public Request for Proposals

City Hall Roof

 

The City of Lockhart is accepting written proposals from qualified roofing professionals for a new minimum 24 gauge standing seam metal roof, excluding the skylights area, at City Hall located at 308 W. San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas 78644. The sealed proposals, which  should be marked “City Hall Roof Proposal”, will be accepted until 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 12, 2012, and can be mailed to the above address, dropped off at the above address or mailed to P O Box 239, Lockhart, Texas, 78644,

 

At the time of submittal, proposals must include: 3 sets of architect/engineer sealed construction plans describing the materials and details for installation of the new standing seam metal roof; the bid must include the cost of the sealed construction plans, all supervision, labor, equipment and material costs to perform all tasks for placement of the new roof to accomplish a weather tight roof system. The new roof must have a guarantee of 10 years against leaking due to workmanship and/or materials.

 

The flat roof area may be inspected during normal business hours. Contractor must bring own ladder.

 

Prior to award, the successful qualified contractor at their own expense must provide proof of workers compensation and general liability insurance coverage naming the City of Lockhart as an additional insured party and must also provide a warranty bond for the 10 year guarantee period.

PENALTY OF ORDINANCE 2012-26:  Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined as provided in Section 1-8 of the City Code.
