Linda Blackshear


Linda W. Blackshear of Joliet, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug. 5, 2013, at the age of 70. She was born on Oct. 29, 1942, in Houston, Texas, to M.C. and Dorothy White.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Lawrence, who passed away in 1946, and brother-in-law John Lee Blackshear, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 47 year

s, Tommy L. Blackshear; her sister, Loretta Slagle and husband, Perry, of Bryan, Texas and West Cliff, Colo.; her brothers, Monroe White and wife, Sharon, of Lyneville, Tenn., and Kyle White of Tijeras, N.M.; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dale Blackshear and wife, Glenda, of Jacksonville, Texas, Irma and Charles Aschenbeck, of Schulenburg, Texas, and Roland and Diane Blackshear and Paul and Debbie Blackshear, all of Cypress, Texas; sister-in-law Jo Ann Blackshear, of Pasadena, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Survivors also included her pet cats, Rosie, George, Kayla and B.W.

Linda was a housewife, a wonderful wife and also served as a substitute teacher for several years. She was a quiet, gentle, loving person who enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She gardened, mowed with her riding lawn mower and especially enjoyed being with her pet kitties. She will always remain in her  husband’s memory and will be very much missed, even though she is in a much better place, free of pain and other health problems.
