March 10, 1942-May 16, 2025

Linda Gale Curran, beloved mother, sister, Nana, and friend, went home to be forever with the Lord on May 16, 2025. Born in Plainview, Texas on March 10, 1942, Linda lived a life rooted in faith, family, and community service.

On October 1, 1966, Linda married the love of her life, Allan Scott Curran, with whom she shared 18 wonderful years until his passing. Together, they built a strong and loving family. This family continued to grow as Linda’s heart knew no boundaries; she welcomed many into her life as family, regardless of blood relation or marriage.

Linda is survived by her children: Shannon Hinsley of Tyler, TX, and her daughters Hannah, Anna, and Savannah. Shawn and Deanne Curran of Ames, Iowa, and their daughter Molly. Scott and Michele Curran of McMahan, Texas, and their children Patrick, Ellee, and Abigail. Linda is also survived by her devoted siblings: sisters; Barbara Mackey, Marjory Hardy, Charlsie Wilkins, and Sherry Diggs (husband Wayne). Brothers: Odis Ellis (wife Liz) and Steve Ellis.

She lovingly kept in touch with a host of nieces and nephews through regular phone calls, visits, and updates from her siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley Elbert Ellis and Lois Britton Ellis, as well as her brothers Sidney Michael Ellis and Benny Ellis.

A faithful member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, Linda’s steadfast faith guided her in raising her children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. She was active in her church family and found joy in fellowship with her brothers and sisters in Christ.

Linda also served on the Board of the Lockhart Area Senior Citizen Activity Center, where she especially cherished the scholarship program that supported local students. This cause was close to her heart.

Linda will be remembered for her kind greetings with a smile, warm heart, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family and Church. Her gentle spirit and gracious presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.

In keeping with her wishes, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s memory to Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.

A visitation will be held at McCurdy Funeral Home on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 5-7 PM. The funeral service will begin at 2 PM at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church on Friday, May the 23rd with the burial following at Jeffrey Cemetery.
