Grogan returns home with “Best Deadlifter” award

The Lockhart High School Lion Powerlifting team competed in the State Meet at Houston-Aldine on Saturday, March 25. Qualifying for State were lifters Travis Grogan, Ryan Lockhart, and Trey Ware.
After a hard fought battle, Grogan earned a second place medal with a season best total of 1590 lbs. in the 198 lb. Divi

sion-I class. Grogan was also named “Best Deadlifter” in the Heavy Weight Division for the State Meet.
Lockhart finished 13th in the 198 lb. Division-I class with a total of 1380 lbs.
Ware had a season best total of 1425 lbs. in the 242 lb. Division-I class.
“All of these young men lifted with a lot of heart and determination,” Coach Darrell Brock said. “Coach McAdams and I are very proud of theses three young men. They showed a lot of heart and a great passion for lifting this year.”
