Friday night had all the makings of a classic rivalry showdown as Lockhart squared off against Del Valle in what turned into a full-blown catfight on the diamond. When the dust settled, the Lions came out on top with an 8-5 victory over the Cardinals.

The win carried a little extra satisfaction for Lockhart. Just four days earlier, the Cardinals had edged them out 5-4. This time around, the Lions made sure the script flipped, and they didn’t waste the opportunity.

Wesley Abel continued his hot streak at the plate, reaching base in two of his three appearances. He swiped another bag, crossed the plate once, and drove in a run to keep the pressure on Del Valle’s defense. Abel has been a menace on the basepaths lately, recording at least one stolen base in each of his last three games.

Jackson Isely also made his presence felt. The speedy Lion went a perfect 1-for-1 at the plate and wreaked havoc once he got on, stealing two bases and scoring a run. His aggressive baserunning helped set the tone and kept the Cardinals on their heels all night.

For Lockhart, it wasn’t just another win, it was payback.
