Lions celebrate White Cane Day
By LISD Staff

White Cane Day honors the achievements of people who are blind or visually impaired, with the white cane as a powerful symbol of independence.
To mark the day, Lockhart Lions visited Judge Hoppy Haden at the courthouse, where he read Mayor Lee White’s official ‘White Cane Day’ Proclamation. Afterwards, the students put their independence skills into practice by walking to the store and picking out some tasty snacks.
The staff of LISD are so proud of thestudents and thrilled to celebrate the achievements of the Lions who are blind or visually impaired. A huge thank-you to the LISD amazing teachers for unlocking potential and organizing this meaningful and fun field trip.
