Lions fall in back-to-back games

The Lockhart Lions” varsity basketball team hosted two home games before the Thanksgiving holiday on Monday, Nov. 21, against Hays and on Tuesday, Nov. 22, against Austin Travis.
Both games ended with defeats added to the Lions season record. In Monday night”s game, Hays walked away with a 68-41 victory over Lockhart. On Tuesday night, Austin Travis barely pulled awa

y with a victory, 65-61.
High scorers for the Lions against Hays were Chris Hodges and Brandon Hodges with 10 points each. Trailing close behind was Thomas Elizondo with nine points, Michael Schulle with six points, Michael Black with four points, and Terrance Waldon with two points.
Grabbing the boards over Hays for Lockhart was Schulle with eight rebounds.
High scorer for the Lions against Austin Travis was B. Hodges with 18 points that included four 3-pointers. Making double statistics with points and rebounds was Mark Black with 15 points including six out of seven free throws and 10 rebounds.
Also adding points to the scoreboard for the Lions were Alex Joseph with nine points, Elizondo with eight points, C. Hodges with six points, Waldon with two points, Kerry Lampkin with two points, and Schulle with two points.
Next, the Lions will travel to Seguin for the Matador Classic Tournament on Thursday, Dec. 1, with games continuing through Saturday, Dec. 3.
