Coach’s recap:

The Lady Lions soccer team tied the Pflugerville Conally Cougars 2-2 on a chilly Friday home game, bringing their record to 0-1-1.

Going into the second half, the Lady Lions were tied 1-1, thanks to a goal from junior Stephanie Corona. With 16 minutes left in the game, sophomore Beggs Stelie scored a goal to give the Lady Lions the lead. Four minutes later, the Cougars answered with a goal of their own to tie the game.

The Lady Lions showed much improvement since their first game, and assistant Coach Michael Dowd was proud of the progress they have made. “We have a very young team, and they are improving with each game. The team is committed to getting better each week and making another payoff appearance.”

It was the last game the Lady Lions played before they start district play. The Lady Lions faced Navarro Tuesday, January 12, at House Park in Austin, however a score was not available at press time. On Jan. 15, they will host Ann Richards at home; JV plays at 6:00, Varsity plays at 7:30. Tickets can be purchased on the Lockhart High School Athletics website.
