Lockhart Lions’ senior Dareon Loggins reached a major career milestone last week, scoring his 1,000th point in varsity action during a game at Leander Rouse.

Loggins finished the game with 21 points, leading his team in a tough, 55-49 loss, to the back-to-back district champions.

LHS boys basketball Head Coach Collin Hart said scoring, “1,000 points is a rare and difficult feat in high school basketball, and for Loggins to achieve that milestone is amazing. His dedication to the game and consistent performance over the years have all contributed to his impressive career.”

“We’re all so proud of Dareon. This is a well-deserved milestone for someone who has worked his tail off to become the player he is today. Watching him be as unstoppable as he has been this season has been awesome to watch.”

Loggins is averaging 20.1 points per game.

“He’s done it against some of the best teams in our district who have tried everything to slow him down,” Hart added.

“Hopefully, Dareon takes some time to enjoy this accomplishment. He should also be sure to thank his teammates who have supported him along the way. I know Dareon wants to finish it the right way.”
