Nettie Lea Williams Staton

Nettie Lea Williams Staton, age 80 of Tilmon, passed away Feb. 28, 2006 in San Marcos, Texas. Nettie was born Aug.10, 1925 in Tilmon, to Troy Lee and Jessie Bernice (Rector) Williams.
Nettie married Clyde Donald Staton Jr. on Feb.14, 1946 in Lockhart. This union was blessed with one child; Jesse Thomas Staton. Nettie worked for Southwest Bell Telephone Company for 37 y

ears, retiring as chief operator. Nettie was a member of the Clearfork Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson; Donald “Bubba” Staton and three brothers; Roger, Bobby Joe, and Donald Ray Williams.
She is survived by her, husband; Donald Staton of Tilmon, a son; Jesse Thomas Staton and his wife Dorlores of Navasota, sister; Wanda Bagwell and husband Gene of Lockhart and sister-in-law Joye Williams of Lockhart. She is also survived by two grandchildren; Phyllis Andrews and Jerry Staton and great grandchildren; Crystal, Christopher, and Johnathan Andrews, Haven, Colin, Elizabeth and Megan Staton, and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2006 at McCurdy Funeral Home. The Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2006 at The McCurdy Memorial Chapel, Lockhart with Rev. Wayne McCrary officiating.
Pallbearers were Douglas Staton, Joe Williams, Kent Williams, Brian Williams, Larry Bagwell, J.D. Williams, and Jerry Staton. Honorary Pallbearers were Christopher Andrews and Terry Bagwell.
Memorials may be made to the Clearfork Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
