The Friends of the Cemeteries on Saturday dedicated a new monument at Lockhart City Cemetery paid for by donors. The Eternal Fountain Monument includes a bench for reflection, a fountain to toss coins into and a wall to leave flowers and other mementos. The monument was built in an effort to cut down on discarded artificial flowers and other mementos that are left on graves for groundskeepers to pick up. Sue Smith, bottom left, was one of several who attended the ceremony, where Fr. Ed Karasek, below, blessed the fountain.
