AUSTIN, Texas — The Old Settler’s Music Festival is officially heading back to its longtime Hill Country home at Camp Ben McCulloch, where it will celebrate its 39th year from April 17–19, 2026. After years of venue changes and shifting landscapes in Central Texas, the festival’s return to Driftwood marks a homecoming for one of the region’s most beloved Americana and roots gatherings. Organizers are calling the event “OSMF 2026: Back to Ben,” promising a refreshed experience grounded in community, music, and family-friendly tradition.

Founded in 1987 as a small one-day bluegrass event, Old Settler’s has since grown into one of North America’s premier roots festivals, earning a place among USA Today’s top five “10 Best Music Festivals.” Its reputation is built on its welcoming atmosphere and loyal multigenerational fan base, many of whom return each year for the mix of world-class performances, camping, and late-night jams beneath the Texas oaks.

For 2026, the festival reaffirms its mission as a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving American roots music. Attendees can expect a relaxed, community-driven environment, shaded camping areas, including RV-friendly spaces, access to Onion Creek, family activities, and the festival’s signature after-hours campfire jam sessions. The Driftwood location also provides easy access to Austin and surrounding towns for supplies, dining, and Hill Country attractions.

Early Bird passes are now available, including three-day general admission, youth and child passes, and optional upgrades such as early entry and parking. Organizers note that ticket availability is limited and expected to sell out. More details and ticket information can be found at oldsettlersmusicfest.org.

The 2026 artist lineup will be announced in the coming months, but festivalgoers can anticipate the same high-caliber programming that has defined Old Settler’s for decades. Over the years, the festival has hosted a celebrated roster of artists, from Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, and Béla Fleck to The War and Treaty, Alison Krauss, Los Lobos, and The Jayhawks. Texas standouts such as Sarah Jarosz, Shakey Graves, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and Shinyribs have also made memorable appearances.

As anticipation builds, Old Settler’s Music Festival prepares to welcome fans back to the roots-rich, oak-shaded grounds of Camp Ben McCulloch, where its history runs deep and its future looks brighter than ever.
