Ottine Mineral Springs marks one-year anniversary with expansion plans

OTTINE, Texas
Just in time for peak Texas heat, Ottine Mineral Springs is celebrating its one-year anniversary on June 1 with refreshing, mineral-rich pools, new summer amenities and an ambitious slate of upcoming expansions- further establishing the 40-acre property as the state’s most distinctive wellness destination.
Formerly known as Warm Springs, the revitalized oasis has quickly gained a devoted following for its rare combination of magical healing waters, serene natural surroundings and thoughtfully curated guest experiences.
As summer temperatures climb, Ottine offers a rare draw: natural mineral pools designed to provide a refreshing escape without sacrificing the therapeutic benefits of soaking. The pools, fed by an artesian well reaching 1,554 feet into the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer, are rich in minerals such as magnesium, sodium bicarbonate and salt—known to help ease muscle tension, support circulation, improve skin health and promote relaxation. Whether warm or cool, the waters offer a restorative experience rooted in centuries of wellness tradition.
“We are incredibly grateful for the response we’ve received in our first year,” said DeDe DeStefano, Ottine Mineral Springs Director of Experience. “Seeing guests embrace the experience—from peaceful soaks to full days spent unwinding on property—has been so rewarding. As we head into summer, our refreshingly cool mineral pools offer the perfect way to beat the Texas heat while still prioritizing wellness.”
At its core, Ottine Mineral Springs is guided by a mission to provide a peaceful, restorative and welcoming retreat where guests can relax, recharge and connect with nature. Set adjacent to Palmetto State Park and the nearby San Marcos River, the property stands apart for its immersive natural setting, rich history and signature Texas hospitality. With mineral waters flowing directly from the source and a water quality considered among the best in the world, Ottine offers an experience unlike any other in Texas.
In addition to its mineral pools, Ottine Mineral Springs continues to expand its guest experience. This summer, the property will introduce poolside cabanas, complete with personalized waitstaff, refreshing misters, complimentary water and cozy robes—adding comfort and convenience to long, leisurely days of soaking.
Looking ahead, Ottine is preparing to unveil several new amenities as part of its continued growth. The property plans to debut a new air-conditioned indoor soaking space and lounge area, complete with restrooms, showers and a pop-up bar, as well as a new, larger sauna to expand its wellness offerings. A full-service restaurant and retail component are also in development, alongside a future hotel. Additionally, guests may now reserve a private courtyard space for up to 20 people, which includes two mineral pools, hammocks, a sauna, cold plunge, showers and restrooms.
Surrounded by native Texas flora, including towering oak trees and indigenous palmettos, the retreat invites guests to slow down and fully immerse themselves in nature. Hammocks, shaded lounging areas, yoga and sound bath classes, wellness programming, and future hike and bike trails further enhance the experience.
Ottine’s healing legacy dates back to 1909, when a 107-degree artesian spring was first discovered on the property. In the 1930s, the Gonzales Warm Springs Foundation used the waters to provide therapeutic relief to children with polio, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds—a spirit of care and inclusivity that continues today. With a deep respect for its history and natural surroundings, Ottine Mineral Springs continues to build on its legacy, offering a sanctuary for rejuvenation that is both timeless and distinctly Texan.
