Roland leads LJHS in rout of Goodnight

Nathan Roland ran for five touchdowns as the Lockhart Junior High 8^th Grade Maroon’s offensive line opened plenty of holes in a 54-29 rout of Goodnight Middle School at San Marcos on Oct. 11.

LJHS Head Coach Willie Boyd also credited Kaidyn Roland with a good game defensively

The 8th White team lost to Goodnight, 13-7.

“The (White) team played hard in a close loss,” Boyd said. “Erik Sanchez had a good game defensively with a long fumble return and several tackles.”

Lockhart Junior High’s 7^th Grade Maroon won a tight game, 34-30, at home over Goodnight.

Zarri Dawson had a big night for the LJHS 7^th Grade Maroon with four touchdowns.

Goodnight prevailed in the 7th White game, 18-8.

“We played hard and showed improvement in the loss,” Boyd said. “Ivan Pierre had a good game at quarterback.”

LJHS’ 8th hosted Seguin’s A.J. Briesemeister Middle School at Lions Stadium on Tuesday, while the 7^th grade visited AJB on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, LJHS’ 8^th grade visits Gonzales at Apache Field, while the 7^th Grade Lions host Gonzales. Each White game will kickoff at 5:30 p.m., while the Maroon games will kickoff at 6:30 p.m.
