Ruby Lee Sturn Phillips

November 16, 1942-September 13, 2026

         Ruby Lee Sturn Phillips went to be with our Lord on September 13, 2026. She was born November 16, 1942, in Cedar Creek, Texas to John James Martin and Nora Bell (McCarthy) Martin. She and her family moved to Lockhart in the early 70’s.

     Ruby married Bobby Joe Phillips in 1995. Ruby was dental assistant at Dr. Medlock’s office and spent many years in the restaurant business in Lockhart. She was a member of the Son Rise Church in Tilmon, Texas.  

     She is survived by husband Bobby Joe Phillips of 31 years. Her children Harold Gregory Sturn, Carolyn Jo Sturn Seeliger, and Matthew Eugene Sturn all of Lockhart. Stepchildren Gary Phillips, Debra Phillips and Bobby Jr. Phillips. Special niece and nephew Rose Perry (Edward) of Neiderwald & Bill Walenta of Dale. Grandchildren Aaron Seeliger of Wimberly, Brian Seeliger (Jill) of Smithville & Morgan Seeliger Negrete (Ignacio) of Kyle & Chelsea Sturn of Midland. Great grandchildren McKenzie VonRosenberg, Logan Seeliger, Lane Seeliger, Isla Seeliger & Emery Seeliger and a great number of Nieces & Nephew.

    Ruby is preceded in death by her father John James Martin, mother Nora Bell Martin, her brothers Andrew Benton Martin & John Edward Martin, her sisters Bonnie L. Martin Walenta Floyd & Anna Bell Martin Van Heeswyk and stepdaughter Dianna Phillips.

    Services will be held on October 3,2026 at 10:00 am at Son Rise Church 125 Blossom Ct. Tilmon, TX 78616 on FM3158 3 miles from McMahan. Thomason Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services. 

    Family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon immediately following the service. After the luncheon all are welcome to join the family at Bunton Cemetery 3078 FM1854 Dale, TX 78616 for a short interment service.
