Solora Justine Riemenschneider, lifelong resident of Lockhart, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the age of 87. She was born on Sept. 13, 1924, in Red Rock, Texas, to Charles Elexander and Mary Ethyl (Smith) James.

Solora was a caring mother, grandmother, sister. An avid gardener, she loved her flowers. She also loved her music, Gospel, Old Crooners and Fran

k Sinatra. Solora was a drum major during her High School years. She married William Victor Riemenschneider on July 05, 1955.

Her parents; husband; and two sisters, Lorene Hamblin and Charlene Baker, preceded her in death.  She is survived by three sons, Austin T. Pittman and wife, Linda, of Corpus Christi, Gary Pittman and wife, Jan, of Austin, and Guy Riemenschneider, of Lockhart; one daughter, Gayla Taylor, of Lockhart; one sister, Willard Faye Head and husband, J.J., of Huntsville; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at McCurdy Funeral Home from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale, with the Rev. Gary Rogers officiating.
