A community forum held last week provided the Lockhart school district with some valuable but unsurprising feedback regarding efforts to retool the academic calendar for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years, LISD Superintendent Susan Bohn said.
The superintendent said 55 people attended the forum that was held last week at Lockhart High School to discuss the evolution of the academic calendar, including the possibility of shorter summers and extended fall and spring breaks during the 2019-20 school year.
Bohn stressed that no decisions regarding the 2019-20 academic calendar would be made this year. The Lockhart ISD Board of Trustees is projected to discuss the 2018-19 calendar at its next meeting on Feb. 19, and will have an opportunity to vote on that calendar in March.
