Hard work was on display Thursday, as Lockhart clinched their 23rd district title in the last 24 years with a slim 35 points. Alamo Heights placed a distant second with 74 points. A surprising Hays team grabbed the third spot with 88 points, rounding out the district’s offerings to the Regional meet on Saturday.

“Our defense played outstanding in the first half,” Lion Head Football Coach Paul Kilby said after the game. “We are real proud of our defense. They were going down a little bit in the second half, but… offensively, we couldn’t get clicking. We got a couple of long drives and getting stopped on the five a couple of times was real tough. It kind of broke our spirit a little bit when we couldn’t score early there.”

“Clemens is a real good ball kit,” Lion Head Football Coach Paul Kilby said after a hard-fought loss to the Buffaloes. “I’m so proud of our kids. I believe they really played hard ‘til the end. The Lockhart Boys Cross Country team traveled to the nationally well-known town of Shiner to run in Shiner Invitational. The meet is one of best small cross country meets held in Texas.
