LISD visits Tesla

It’s not every day that middle schoolers get to see where Teslas are built, but last week, the 8th graders from LJHS did just that!

The students traveled to Austin to take part in Tesla’s very first Manufacturing Day, and LJHS was one of only two schools personally invited to join the event. During the visit, students toured the massive Tesla factory, learned about the many different jobs that make the company run, and even got hands-on with a Lego car-building simulation. The highlight for many was a behind-the-scenes look at how Tesla vehicles come together on the production line.

“It was an unforgettable experience,” said school staff, proud to see their Lions exploring real-world careers and discovering what’s possible beyond the classroom.

A big thank-you goes out to LJHS and the GEAR UP program for making this opportunity happen, helping students see the future of technology, innovation, and their own potential in action.
