L.J.H. volleyball face challenges on court
8th Grade “A” Team
The Lady Lion 8th grade “A” volleyball team played San Marcos Goodnight on Thursday, Sept.8.
They lost in three games to the skilled Goodnight team. The Lady Lions dropped the first game, 21-25. During the second game, they fell behind 19-7, and came back to win 25-23 with strong serving from Kelsey Daily and Brandy Stacks. During the third
game, several key missed serves costs the Lady Lions the match, 13-15.
Daily received the game ball for leading the comeback in the second game by serving six consecutive serves in a row.
“After a strong outing the week before against Wimberley, the loss definitely hurts, but we have a lot of volleyball left to be played,” said Coach LeAnn Sibley.

8th Grade “B” Team
On Sept. 8, the Lady Lions took a tough loss to San Marcos Goodnight.
The Lady Lions went three games with the Lady Snakes, but due to inconsistent serving could not grab the win.
In the first game the Lions struggled with serving and were defeated, 20-25. Amanda Alvarez did pull through with her serves giving the Lions eight points.
In the second game, the Lady Lions bounced back to win 25-21.
Erin O”Connor had four kills and Kariah Selby had three kills. Julia Robicheaux and Audrey Aguilar served well, leading the Lions to victory.
In the third game the Lady Lions were defeated, 12-15, due to serving. The Lions are now 1-1 in district play

7th Grade Teams
The Lady Lion 7th grade volleyball teams met Goodnight on the court last Thursday, Sept. 8.
The 7th grade “B” team lost the match in two games, 25-19 and 25-13.
The 7th grade “A” team also lost in two matches, 25-17 and 25-12.
The 7th grade “B” team took second place overall in the Wimberley tournament this past weekend.
The 7th grade “C” team took first place overall. The MVP was Alyson Baltierra.
