Commissioners reinstate burn ban

Although they temporarily lifted an outdoor burning ban on Tuesday, the Caldwell County Commissioners” Court opted to reinstate the ban on Friday.

The ban had been lifted in an effort to allow farmers and ranchers the opportunity to burn brush piles to accommodate fall planting. However, because the danger remained so

great, Caldwell County Judge H.T. Wright suggested the ban might be reinstated.

On Friday morning, Wright”s office distributed a memo indicating the ban had been reinstated.
