The Lockhart High School track and field team delivered an impressive performance at the Area Track Meet in Canyon Lake this week, with multiple athletes punching their tickets to the regional competition.

Leading the way for the Lions, Bob Estrada secured a regional berth in the 110-meter hurdles, showing off his speed and precision over the barriers. On the girls’ side, Bailey O’Keefe matched that success in the 100-meter hurdles, continuing her strong season with a standout finish.

Distance runner Ethan Herrera earned his spot in the regional meet with a gritty performance in the 1600-meter run, while Kaidyn Roland Brite sprinted his way into qualification in the 200-meter dash, adding to the team’s momentum.

The Lions’ performances highlight a program that is peaking at the right time, combining individual excellence with team confidence as the postseason progresses.

With four athletes advancing, Lockhart now sets its sights on the next challenge: the Regional Track Meet at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio on May 1-2, where the competition will be tough.
