L.H.S. track earns medals at Regionals

The Lockhart Lion and Lady Lion track teams traveled to San Antonio for the Regional Meet on Friday, April 28.
Sophomore Aly Daily earned a gold medal in pole-vaulting at the Regional Meet advancing her to the State Meet on Friday, May 12. Daily vaulted 11 feet six inches over the bar to surpass her regional rivals. This is the second year for Daily to compete at the

State level.
Qualifying for finals at the Regional level was Ceci Smith in the 100-meter dash and the 400-meter dash as well as Dwin Roland in the 300-meter hurdles. Smith received fourth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.37 seconds to barely miss the cut for State qualifiers.
Also competing at the Regional Meet was Terrance Waldron in the high jump event, Daniel Cudzillo in the pole vault event, Clay Culpepper in the 800-meter run, Nick Yunkun in the 800-meter run, Justin Platt in the 1600-meter run, Tami Warner in the 800-meter run and 1600-meter run, Livi Massey in the 800-meter run and 1600-meter run, and Aly Gonzales in the 3200-meter run.

Writer”s note: Terrance Waldon was omitted from the previous article in the Post-Register about Regional qualifiers. Waldon qualified for the Regional Meet in the high jump event.
