Let the building begin
Last week was a big day for Lockhart ISD (LISD) as the first pier was officially in the ground at the Seawillow Middle School ,

Last year, LISD announced they would break ground on a $90M new, second middle school named Seawillow Middle School. The school is designed to alleviate overcrowding with a 2027 opening. Following a $93.5 million bond approval, construction broke ground late January of this year. The new campus will be located on the east side of FM 1322, integrated into the 589-acre Moxie development.
The facility will accommodate approximately 1,200 students in grades 6-8.
The school is part of the Moxie development by Red Oak Group, which is also implementing the TEACH initiative to support teacher homeownership.
The new school is a direct response to, and part of, a larger strategy to manage the rapid growth of the district.
