The Martindale Community Library celebrated its 4th annual Kite Day on Saturday, April 6, at Allen Bates Park.

There were 173 people who attended the event. There were 50 kites passed out to children. Activities included flying kites, stomp rockets, a bubble station, frisbee golf, basketball, and science experiments (Mentos and soda explosions).

“We loved seeing so many happy faces,” said Ashley Guerrero, Director of the Martindale Community Library. “Thank you to the city for providing free parking for the event and to Sam Clinton for supplying garbage receptacles and ensuring that our parks stay clean. Thank you to Sage Capital Bank for sponsoring this event. Thank you also to Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative and Jo Anna Gilland for providing water for Kite Day.
