Mary Jo (Fowler) Bourg was born on, March 5, 1926, in Wellington, Texas, the eleventh child of James Griffin Fowler and Gertrude Stanley Fowler.  She entered into rest on July 6, 2014 having attained the age of 88 years, four months, and one day.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wilfred M. “Fred” Bourg; her brothers, Aubry Eugean Fowler, Linnie Raymo

nd “Jake” Fowler, Roy Bland “Buddy” Fowler, and James Griffin “Preacher” Fowler, III; her sisters, Alma Elizabeth Griffin, Willnia Frances Clogston, Nelle Katherine Glick-Middleton and Lillian Gertrude Nix; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Lynn Bourg, and her grandson, William Randall Weyel.

She is survived by her brother, Wiley Wayne “Dub” Fowler, of Corpus Christi, Texas; her sister, Mildred Juanita Voelkel, of Corpus Christi; her children Mary Connell “Connie” Weyel and husband, Carl, of San Antonio, W. M. “Fred” Bourg, Jr. and wife, Karen, of Melissa, Texas, and David James Bourg and wife, Debby, of Round Rock; her grandchildren, Jon Bourg, Lauren Dill, Joseph Weyel, Jeff Bourg, Matthew Lindwall, Melanie Schaab and Andrew Lindwall; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A longtime resident of Lockhart, Texas, Mary Jo was a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in McMahan.

Family planned to receive friends at McCurdy Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in McMahan with Elder Joseph Weyel officiating. Interment to follow at Jeffrey Cemetery.
