Rosa G. Briceno
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosa G. Briceño, 79, our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Aunt, on November 14, 2024.
Rosa is survived by her devoted husband, Margarito Briceño, their three cherished children, and seven adored grandchildren.
Born the third of four siblings, Rosa overcame early challenges after the loss of her birth mother, staying deeply connected to her siblings despite separation in their youth. Adopted at a young age, she dedicated her life to nurturing family and friends, always putting others before herself.
Rosa made a lasting impact in her community, serving for over 20 years as a custodian with LISD. Her work reflected her values of hard work, kindness, and commitment. At St. Mary’s of the Visitation, Rosa’s faith flourished as a passionate advocate for the Guadalupanas for more than 40 years, combining her spirituality with her calling to serve others.
At home, Rosa found joy in simple, meaningful pursuits—caring for her cats and dog, tending to her flower garden, and creating a haven of warmth and love for all who visited. Her kindness, spiritual strength, and willingness to help those in need touched countless lives.
Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024 at DeLeon Funeral Home. We will then gather at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for her rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, also at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the family plot at Clark Chapel Cemetery.
Rosa’s love will forever be felt by her large family, extended community, and anyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of compassion and faith will continue to inspire all who were blessed by her presence.
