Alice Glenn Worthy Fogle passed away on August 14, 2026. She was born on February 9, 1936, in Luling, Texas, to Lewis Worthy and Minnie Lee Guyton. She was 90 years old.

Alice spent her early years in Prairie Lea, attending grades 1 through 7 before completing grades 8 through 12 at Luling High School. As a young teenager, she loved riding horses and especially enjoyed barrel racing. In high school, she played the clarinet and cymbals in the band, graduating in 1954.

After high school, Alice attended Business School in San Antonio, where she met her lifelong friend Maxine Goff- a friendship that endured for more than seventy years.

Alice later met James Earle “Jim” Fogle in Bandera, Texas, where he was playing in a band. They married in Luling on April 5, 1957. Jim continued performing across South Texas until the band decided to try their luck in California. Jim and the band traveled ahead, and once accommodations were arranged, Alice followed-driving all the way to California with her dog Taffy and a gun tucked under the seat.

For a time, they lived in the Long Beach, California area, even staying above the club where Jim and the band performed. Those years left behind stories the family fondly remembers-some of which Alice may have preferred to keep quietly tucked away!

In 1958, Jim was drafted and while stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, their son, James “Bubba” Jr., was born in 1959. After his military service, they returned to Luling, where their daughter Kelley was born in 1961.

Alice worked for the IRS for 36 years, building a career marked by dedication and steadiness. During those years, she and Jim traveled a bit and spent cherished time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Earle “Jim” Fogle of 60 years, her brother Lewis Webber Worthy, three sisters-Rebecca “Becky” Knight, Mary Vick, and Helen Ditter, and her grandchild, Lindsay Rae Fogle.

Alice is survived by her son, Jim Fogle Jr. (Galynn), and her daughter, Kelley Holland (Tommy); her grandchildren Cody Fogle, Lorrin Badders (Brett), and Tyler Roan; and her great-grandchildren Ashlyn Fogle, Sawyer Badders, Kutter Badders, and Steelee Badders, along with several nieces and nephews. She is remembered with affection by her niece, Karen Garner, who was the flower girl at her wedding.

Even though she faced health challenges in her final years, weakening both body and spirit, she held fast to her faith and her family. Her life was long, full, and marked by devotion to her family and friends. Her memory will continue to live gently in the hearts of those who loved her.

Serving as pallbearers are Brett Badders, Cody Fogle, Keith Garner, Tommy Holland, Nicholas Michna, and Tyler Roan.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10-11am, at McCurdy Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11am and burial will be at Luling City Cemetery at 1pm.
