LHS golfers continue to improve

The Lockhart Lion golfers competed at the Smithson Valley Invitational at Landa Park Golf Course recently in New Braunfels. The LHS boys’ and girls’ teams showed good progress, according to Head Coach Franklin Hudson.

Andres Osuna was the low Lion for the second outing this season, recording a 78. He finished in third. Chris Collins posted an 82 for a sixth-place finish. Jayne Contreras shot 113 for 52nd and Carter Jones shot 135 to finish 64th. 

For the Lady Lion golfers, Alejandra Osuna led led the way with a 101 to finish 12th, followed by Anissa Capetillo with a 105 in 16th place, Zoie Ledesma with a 117 in 19th, Karlee Scott 127 for 24th position, and McKenzie Mayfield with a 134 for 26th place. 

The Lions had a short week, playing Monday (boys) and Tuesday (girls) at Double J golf club in Wimberly.
